About the Presenter:
Ron R. Allison graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BS degree from Brooklyn College in 1983. In 1987, he received his MD from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical School. Dr. Allison completed his internship at Kings County Hospital Center in 1988 and completed residency in 1991 at SUNY Health Science Center, where he was named as chief resident. He then joined SUNY-Buffalo and the NCI designated Roswell Park Cancer Institute as an attending physician and Associate Professor. In 2000, Dr. Allison joined the ECU Brody School of Medicine as Professor and Chair of Radiation Oncology and also served as director of the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center. He is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist by the American Board of Radiology and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Allison has authored over 100 oncology publications and has delivered over 200 presentations at oncology meetings and forums worldwide. Dr. Allison was appointed by the Governor of North Carolina to a leadership position on the Statewide Cancer Control Committee. He is also the recent past president of the Pitt County Medical Society.
