Poster # 2839 Multipronged Quality Initiatives In Radiation Oncology: Feasibility, Staff Satisfaction, And Initial Outcomes

About the Presenter:
Robert Adams received his masterís degree in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University. He is certified in radiography, radiation therapy, and medical dosimetry. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the UNC Department of Radiation Oncology, UNC School of Medicine. Professionally, he is deputy editor of The Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences and assistant editor of the journal, Medical Dosimetry. He is on the ASTRO Multidisciplinary Patient Safety Committee and the ASTRO Peer Review Quality Assurance and IMRT White Papers. Dr. Adams is completing his sixth year on the National Board of Directors for the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board and is currently national chair of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Research and Grants council. Most recently, he is the primary investigator of a $1 million grant submitted through the National Institutes of Health. He has twice been the recipient for the Harold Silverman distinguished author award through the ASRT and is also the recipient of the 2011 Jean Widger Author Award and the 2009 American Association of Medical Dosimetrists Award of Excellence.
